Thoughts are recycled information.
Memories are recyled relationships.
-Deepok Chopra
I had jotted it down while listening to something of his, an audiobook or a lecture. I came across the scrap of paper while decluttering today.
I thought it was interesting then and still think it is interesting now.

This statement does sound interesting. However, upon more thought, I realized that Chopra left out an important function of thought--the development of novel ideas. If thoughts are only recycled information, then what produces new ideas? I submit that thoughts are not only recycled information. They also can create new information.
